My short film ‘Dinner’ was screened at Expressions: Poetry in the Pub, on Tuesday December 13th and it was an amazing evening. It was a great opportunity for me to showcase my film to what I thought would have been a few people, but there was a much larger turn out than the organizers and I had expected. As I still get slightly embarrassed watching my film with people around, due to what some might deem questionable content, I was extremely nervous when it ended. There was a short question and answer segment scheduled at the end of the screening, where I would be asked about the film making process and some of the difficulties I encountered during it, but I made it through. 😀

Nervous but willing

I even laughed a bit.

When it was all over, I was able to chill, relax and enjoy the talented poets with some of my friends, who came out to support me.

Just looking around.

The fantastic audience

There were a few people who unfortunately missed the screening and have been asking when Expressions will show it again and I believe that will be sometime in February, but I will have to verify that with the organizers, as this particular Expressions does take a little bit more planning than the usual ones. Linisa and Zahra and all who assisted them, organized an amazing  function and I was proud to be a part of it.

Expressions: Poetry in the Pub, returns on January 10th 2012, at the Heavenly Java 2 Go, located on the boardwalk of Redcliffe Quay. For details see their facebook page.  It’s definitely worth leaving the house during the work week for. You will leave feeling inspired.
